Westrek designed 65 km of the Falling Creek Connector Road that joins the Brule and Willow Creek mines. The road was designed to carry 110 tonne A-train trucks that will move coal to the washing and load our facilities at the Willow Creek mine. Loads will be hauled 365 days a year, with no load restrictions during break-up. The design included three large bedrock cutslopes and the installation of several bridges and large diameter culverts. The soils in this region are silt and clay, and the bedrock consists of weak to moderately strong sedimentary sequences.
